Neil is our General Manager with expertise in all areas of residential construction. He has more than 20 years experience within the building industry with extensive experience in project home and luxury home building.

He has a strong passion for working alongside like-minded individuals within a dynamic team who pride themselves on delivering high quality homes and exceptional customer service for our customers.

Neil holds a Bachelor in Housing and multiple qualifications in building studies and quantity surveying as well as being a licensed builder.

Nick is our Construction Manager with expertise in site supervision and management. He has more than 30 years experience in the building industry with extensive experience in project home and luxury home building.

He is highly regarded for his exacting standards and ingenuity which means he can draw on a wealth of knowledge to help lead the construction team in building high quality homes very efficiently for our customers.

Nick holds multiple qualifications in building studies and quantity surveying as well as being a bricklayer by trade and licensed builder.

Johan Phan

Johan is our Estimating & Procurement Manager with expertise in measuring quantities and price negotiation. He has more than 22 years experience within the building industry with extensive experience in project homes, custom homes and knock-down rebuilds.

He prides himself on producing the most accurate and efficient estimating processes and procedures. He also plays an integral role by working together with our trades and suppliers to provide the highest quality inclusions at the most competitive price that we can offer our customers.

Johan holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering.

Imogen King

Imogen is our Accounts & Office Administrator with expertise in accounts payable and accounts receivable. She has more than 6 years experience within the building industry with extensive experience in project home building.

She has a proven track record of implementing and trailing new processes and procedures to assist with efficiency. She is also known for her attention to detail and willingness to help the team wherever possible in the best interests of our customers.

Imogen holds a Certificate III in Finance and Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping.

    Q: What are the advantages of building a new home compared to buying an established home?

    Building a new home has many benefits over buying established. For starters, you have complete control on which design suits your lifestyle and family needs. Not only will your brand new home benefit from modern building practices, but will also be built with sustainable energy consumption at its core.

    Q: Does Star Homes Sell Land?

    If you don’t have land, consider one of our house and land packages which come with site costs included.

    Q: Can Star Homes build on my block?

    We offer a wide range of home designs to fit a variety of block sizes, from small lot homes to acreage. Before we build, we carry out a full site inspection to ensure the structural integrity of your home.

    Q: What are site costs?

    Site costs are the fees associated with preparing your site for construction. They cover things like earthworks, soil tests, and most importantly the engineering requirements for the foundation of the home.

    Q: What is conveyancing?

    Conveyancing is the process of transferring the legal ownership of a property from one person or entity to another.

    Q: Do you look after council approvals for me?

    Yes, we liaise with your local council and take care of all council approvals on your behalf. This varies between council areas, however on average 6 weeks +.

    Q: Can I make structural changes to a floor plan?

    Each of our floor plans has several structural options, so you can personalise them to suit your lifestyle. Common structural options include an ensuite bathroom, butler’s pantry or alfresco.

    Q: What is BASIX?

    BASIX stands for ‘Building and Sustainability Index’ – it is NSW energy efficiency rating scheme. Each new home in NSW has to reach a certain level of energy efficiency before it can be built, and BASIX is like a point score system – different parts of your home carry a rating that either gives you points or deducts points… so you add, subtract and add until you get to the right level, and then you get a green tick on a certificate that we send to council or your certifier as part of your approval.

    Q: What is Stamp Duty?

    Stamp duty is a revenue levied by states on transactions including the sale of property. The amount of stamp duty you pay will vary depending on the value of the property you intend to buy and is determined by your state’s government.

    Q: How long will it take to build my home?

    The length of time it takes to prepare your site and build your home is dependent on many factors such as location, house design, building approval, soil conditions and weather for examples. In saying that we’re proud to offer a streamlined and efficient process to build your quality home so you can have confidence in our agreed timeframes.
